How to Improve Your Success Rate When Doing EFT Anxiety Tapping

When dealing with long term/chronic anxiety, this may sound a little odd, but for longer lasting results and a more successful EFT anxiety approach, it is best if we assume that all parts of us have a positive purpose or intention. Even if the symptoms (panic, heart palpitations, sweating, chills, shortness of breath, dizziness, insomnia, digestive problems) caused by some hidden part of us, are unpleasant and disrupt our life.

We can greatly improve our success rate with EFT anxiety tapping, by doing some question asking/investigation before we start to tap. This way we can find out more about the purpose or job of our anxiety or part responsible for the anxious feelings and uncomfortable symptoms.

It is important to understand that many times, our subconscious or inner mind has a higher intention or goal around a situation than we are aware of. However, it doesn't mean that our body is making the most resourceful or best choice for us. (Note: The full article on my web site has more detail and suggestions on how to set up for these questions.)

7 Questions to Ask Before Using EFT for Anxiety

1 - If my anxiety is trying to keep me safe, what is it trying to keep me safe from?
2 - What might my anxiety be trying to protect me from?
3 - If my anxiety had a job... what would it be?

Questions to Ask the Anxiety Directly

4 - What might you be afraid of?
5 - What is your purpose?
6 - What are you protecting me from?
7 - What do you need?

What to do if You are Not Getting Any Answers...

If you feel that you are being blocked from getting answers or haveĀ  any signs of anxiety when you are doing this investigation - take a few moments to send a clear message inward that it is not your intention to get rid of this 'part ', but to learn how to work together with it so you can function as a more normal, balanced and healthy person.

You may also want to consider working with an experienced tapping buddy or a trained EFT practitioner because it can be challenging to be the question asker and answerer at the same time. We may also feel a bit safer and more able to go inward when somebody else is holding a healing space for us.
