We all know that the <hardware> components of MTT (Meridian Tapping Techniques) originate from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

<Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is an emotional, needle free version of acupuncture…> reads Gary Craigs webpage for instance….

As a longtime practitioner of martial arts I`ve been focusing in the past few years on the <Neijia-quan>, the soft or internal arts of China of which the most prominent is Tai chi chuan.

The difference between the internal arts and the so called external disciplines [usually known as Kung Fu) is the focus on the development of <Chi> or internal energy through Chi Kung [ Energy work].

Beside that Chi Kung is also one of the different branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

There exists a huge variety of different Chi Kung systems.

Nevertheless Chi Kung can be categorized in different ways, according to the purpose or the technique itself.

For our needs I will simply make the distinction between moving und standing Chi Kung and concentrate on the later.

<Zhan zhuang> is Chinese, stands for <standing like a post> and describes a Chi Kung basic exercise:

You stand, feet apart, knees slightly bent and your hands in front of your belly like you would hug a tree. Your breathing is relaxed and goes deep down in your belly to the point 4cm/ 2 inches below your navel (in Chinese called <Chi hai>, the sea of Chi>). Even you might ask yourself <What that’s all ?> let me tell you that this is one of the most powerful Chi Kung exercises and therefore it was considered a secret until modern times…

The benefits of this seemingly simple techniques can be tremendous:

Through the motionless posture your natural body alignment is restored, of course it takes  practice, and in the beginning every part of your body and your mind start screaming <Move, I wanna move>, but after a while you are able to relax and you will feel the immediate results like relaxation of tensed up body parts, a clear and calm mind and last but not least the feeling of being grounded and firmly rooted.

So far the story….

A little while ago during my standing meditation practice I suddenly started to do imagening the tapping combined with the choices method – the effect was enormous:

The whole day I really FELT the choices that I made, more strongly then when I do tapping as a start up for the day.

And the good news: It doesn’t take a long period of standing before starting with the tapping, 5 minutes will do it.

Here the instruction for the <Standing-post-tap>:

Stand feet comfortably apart, best would be parallel, knees slightly bent,

Hips pushed forward a bit, side muscles stretched, shoulders relaxed,

Hands in front of your belly button, forming a ball, breathe deeply in and deeply out, inhaling through your nose, exhaling through your nose, breathe gently and through time your breath will deepen.

Focusing on the point four finger-width below your belly buton…

After 5 minutes start imagining the tapping with the point on      the head and your    choice-phrase:

            1.

<I choose to feel the connection to the universe / god /  the great spirit  [or whatever your believe system is]

            2.

formulate your own choices according the way you wanna feel….

            3.

do as many rounds as you like and feel how your whole being totally merges       into the choices.
