I guess I knew that Patrick Swayze was sick, but was quite surprised when I read that he died today. I remember watching his movies and thinking how cool it was that someone who really knew how to dance was 'making it' in Hollywood. As a dancer myself, I was drawn to all the dance movies back in the 80's and of course Dirty Dancing was one of them.
I also remember 'Ghost' - not only because it was a great movie, but because I've thrown on a potter's wheel and thought the whole clay scene was so romantic... even though Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore were covered in clay one minute and completely clean in the next frame. Didn't matter, it was a good movie and Whoopie made me laugh (after I cried), and I was really glad when she won the Oscar. An article said that Whoopie said she wouldn't have won the Oscar if it wasn't for Patrick Swayze.
I have to wonder if Patrick Swayze and his wife knew about Meridian Tapping Techniques "MTT." There is an article called "Tapping into the Present: a Tale of living each day as if it were your last" by Joanne Harvey, MSW, Pro-ER, MTT, EFT Practitioner
It is a good read. Cancer is such a personal illness and it affects everyone around you as well. Wouldn't it be great if we could learn to live each day as if it were our last while we're healthy and surrounded by our loved ones?
Another good article is by Dr. Alex Lees about a case history of cancer I hope that Patrick and his wife didn't take the cancer too seriously and were able to enjoy the time that they had together once they found out. He married her as his high school sweetheart and stayed married even though he was working in Hollywood - quite a feat. From what I read, she was with him when he died. She was a dancer too, she took dance lessons from Patrick's mom. They met when she was 15 and he was 19.
I think I'll stop all this typing on the computer and go appreciate my husband now :)
Who do you appreciate?
